MAKING A VIDEO

1. Executive producer: manages time line and budget
2. Writer: takes the idea or concept and writes the script
3. Producer: in charge of the creative team, secures the service of the production crew,
prepare shooting schedules, on time and in budget
4. Director:directs the cast and crew, tells people what to do, explains the production to
technical crew and performers and has the final say
5. Production manager: coordinates all the different stages, track the production
6. Storyboard artist: draw up rough sketches, visual interpretation
7. Camera operator: shoots the required scenes work with the lighting director who ensures
the desired effect is created
8. Sound technician: ensure the dialogue and other sounds are properly recorded,
microphones and levels are correct, final sound mix
9. Talent: are the cast, deliver the content
10. Editor: finish off the production, cutting footage, music, graphics, special effects and text

11. Define brief: Intention, Purpose, Target Audience, sets the limitations of the proJect
such as budget and time frame

Pre-production

The doing stage where the shooting of the film takes place

Post-Production

Editing

Offline (rough cut edit) On-line (final cut edit)

Cutting footage and audio together, graphics, titles, sound mixing, work with
Producer/Director
23. What task is done after an edit? What is the purpose of this task?
A sound mix can be made where a sound technician adjusts sound so they are correctly
balanced
